How It Works

The assessment tool has been designed to be as easy to use as possible. You may have seen a number of online tools which boil down to a 200 line questionnaire.

The problem with these types of solution is that the questions may not make much sense to you, at this time, or for your business.

This tool is not a set of questions, more a step by step roadmap of requirements. Things you will need to provide evidence for to prove you are in compliance with BS:25999.

To make the BS:25999 specification a little less daunting we have divided the requirements of the standard into 7 discrete sections. Within each section are a number of clearly defined tasks your organisation must complete in order to show compliance with the standard.

Intuitive step by step checklist. Steps are colour coded according to priority requiring attention. You can expand and collapse each section to make it easier to focus on the important elements.

You can step between any of the sections at any time, but we have structured them to make it easier for you to follow along from conception to accreditation.

Advice and Support at every step

We find that, for anyone coming to it for the first time, the hardest part of implementing a Business Continuity Management Plan is understanding what the company needs to do to fulfil the requirements of the specification. Confusing terms like Scopes, Stakeholders and new concepts such as Exercises and Audits are bewildering.

All our steps have clear instructions. And to make it easier for you to grasp new concepts, for many tasks we provide a number of useful and easy to understand documents, resources and guidelines. As the tool develops we will be adding Video clips and Online training seminars.

You can either fill out your information online, ready to be used within the system, or you can download the forms and documents to use within your organisation. You can also upload completed forms, or internal documents for the system to store for you securely. We will maintain a version history and audit trail for each document you upload.

For each item on the checklist we provide a detailed explanation of what you need to do, and offer documents you can download to help you get started.

Quick and easy scoring system

Once you have looked at a requirement under one of the sections, you have the ability to assign a progress score against it. 1 if you have not started it yet, up to 5 if you are fully compliant with that stage.

Assigning scores is easy and intuitive, simply drag the progress slider across from left to right. For each score we will display a description showing what evidence you will need to provide to qualify for that score.

We keep track of your scores for you, and offer the advice and resources suitable for your current process. We maintain an audit log of changes made, so you can demonstrate continuous improvement with the plan.

For each requirement in the system you can upload documents as evidence of your actions for each system. The system will retain these documents, and also retain a version history for each file you upload for assessments and audits.

As you progress, you can download graphical reports indicating your progress, ready for submission to your organisation's review teams, and you can set project milestones that we will track and issue reminders for.

In addition we can provide you with an own-branded microsite indicating your current level of compliance with BS:25999. You can link to this from your own website, and be confident that the progress displayed will always be accurate and up to date.
