Health & Safety Management Systems

The past few years have seen an upsurge in Health & Safety legislation both in the UK and the rest of Europe. This has put extra pressure on Directors, Business Owners and Managers to ensure not only a safe working environment, but also compliance with ever increasing legislations.

The implementation of a Health and Safety Management System within the business is becoming more and more essential to control these ever increasing requirements. It is the responsibility of every Director, Business Owner and Manager to ensure the safety of the workforce together with contractors and visitors to the site.

The need to identify and control the Health and Safety management processes has been addresses in a UK standard OHMS 18001. This standard, although not recognised as an international standard, has become the UK industry standard and is recognised by Certification Bodies, who are able to certify compliance to this standard.

A combined Certification of the Management System to ISO 9001, ASH 18001 and BS 14001 is now possible from a number of certification bodies.
